janv. 08, 2020

Tuesday, 2 January, 2020 at 16:00 the exhibition #Science for Latvia was opened in the National Library of Latvia.

In order to celebrate the power and diversity of Latvian science, the Ministry of Science and Education has been organising an exhibition of 12 contemporary Latvian scientists and their achievements for the third year in a row. The interactive portraits of the exhibition allow to look at personal video stories and get to know each scientist and the branch of science he represents.

Researcher of Ventpils University of Applied Sciences, physicist Artūrs Vrubļevskis will take part in the exhibition. Latvia's development is based on the creation of new knowledge and the ability to use it competently. Scientists are the part of society that develops our knowledge culture with its relentless curiosity, constant interest, passion and ambition. The accumulated knowledge forms an understanding of our world and promotes continuous self-development and sustainable development of the country.

With the help of the exhibition #Science for Latvia, the Ministry of Education and Science wants to strengthen public awareness of the importance of science as a driving force of the Latvian economy. What is a new scientific discovery today, will be the cornerstone of economic development tomorrow. Latvia has made significant achievements in various fields of science, such as medicine and pharmacy and materials science which have worked out with successful products.

The exhibition #Science for Latvia in the National Library of Latvia will be on view from 7 January, 2020 to 7 February, 2020.
